Cheer-Accident is one of the more interesting -- and eccentric -- of all the bands currently working their mojo along the Chicago art-noise axis. A band with a small, cryptic core and an army of bit players, Cheer-Accident were formed in the first moments of 1981 at a New Year's Eve party and have been doing odd things to tape oxide in the name of art ever since. At the moment the main players in this ongoing drama are Phil Bonnet, Thymme Jones (Brise-Glace, Yona-Kit, Tony Conrad, Illusion of Safety, etc.), Dylan Posa (The Flying Luttenbachers, Tony Conrad, Brise-Glace, etc.), and Jeff Libersher. Their most recent album, ENDURING THE AMERICAN DREAM, is an amazing fusion of art, noise, melody, antimusic, and more, with disturbing lyrics circling around the current decline of western civilization.
